Strategic Plan

In July 2018 the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO) launched its Strategic Plan, 'Enhancing the Customer Experience', which sets out the vision for the next three years. The Plan is the first for the organisation, which was established on 1 January 2018.

Overview of Complaints

By the end of Q1 each year, the FSPO publishes his Overview of Complaints for the previous year which includes: a summary of all complaints made to the Ombudsman; a review of trends and patterns in the making of complaints to the Ombudsman; a breakdown of the method by which all complaints made to the Ombudsman were dealt with; and a summary of the outcome of all complaints concluded or terminated.

Annual Report

Each year, the FSPO prepares an annual report on the performance of its functions during the previous year. As this report also includes the organisation's Financial Statements, it cannot be published until it has been audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General and laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas.

Ombudsman's Digest of Decisions

Section 62 of the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman Act 2017, provides the FSPO with the power to publish legally binding decisions in relation to complaints concerning financial service providers. In addition to publishing the full decision, the Ombudsman's Digest includes a short summary of a selection of decisions.
